To all Majors Baseball Participants:

Little League believes players should have a say in who makes a Tournament Team. It is the organization’s experience that players are often objective in the selection process, have an intuitive respect for fellow players, and appreciate the opportunity for their opinions to be heard. For this reason we are introducing a new All Star selection process for the 2018 Little League All Star Tournament where players get to vote for themselves and their peers.

In 2018, Bronco Little League is planning on placing three tournament teams into the District 3 tournament. Unlike the regular season, the All-Star teams are chosen with the intent of competing at the highest level. Every All-Star candidate must meet the following criteria: eligibility, availability, ability and attitude/effort.

The player needs to be age appropriate for the team he is chosen to participate on. The player must have played 60 percent of his team’s regular season games. The player must be a Hampden, Newburgh, Winterport or Frankfort resident, and the player must be able to commit to attending 100% of all games & 90% of all scheduled tournament team practices (exceptions: sick, illness, family emergency; all approved absences will be reviewed by the teams All-Star coaching staff, VP of Baseball and the President).

Beyond the talent of the player that is selected, the player must make a commitment to be available from mid-June to the end of July, with a potential of going into August and be able to play every game.  If a player cannot commit to that time period, they will not be eligible for tournament team selection and should not sign up. While this may seem like a very long time now, most involved in past All-Star teams will say it ended much too soon.  Parents may encumber additional travel expenses, especially if the teams advance in Tournament play.

Being an All-Star is more than just having the talent to compete. It is also about having good character, the right attitude, being a good sport and a good teammate. Players not exhibiting a great attitude and effort will not be eligible to represent Bronco Little League in Tournament play.

Please let your coach know no later than June 3rd to express interest in being part of a Bronco Tournament Team and the willingness to commit to the team. Additional details re: the selection process, which varies based on the age level, are provided below:
